Isle of Iris

The new world was a disappointment to the heavens, not at all what they had planned. Their creation was becoming little more than a lost cause under the treacherous nature of humans and their entirely too-short lives. The Isle of Iris was created, gifted into this harsh existence, a chance for purpose after millennia of nothingness. Conscious creatures and magical immortals inhabited the lands with the harmonic balance originally intended, that is, until the mainlanders, the humans, arrived, craving the Isle and its power for themselves.Over one hundred years of warfare, and Aelia thought her home would once again find the peace the heavens craved, she had craved, even if it rendered her, a warrior known for her deadly dance, useless. Hope for that precious peace is shattered when an ancient prophecy is suddenly thrust into motion, changing the tides of Iris. Aelia knew who, or rather what, she was and questioned her role within the twisted fate. There was no time to think as ships, mainlanders, were back to claim the price of the treaty. A new warfare began, one she could not fight with blades but with secrets, schemes, and unexpected allies.
