This research aims to study the narrative structure in contemporary Algerian novels, using a limited corpus. Structure is a phenomenon that several researchers have attempted to address using different methodologies. Studies focusing on the novel have been the subject of debate regarding their effectiveness in grasping the fundamental aspects of discourse within it. Thus, the history of literature and criticism is replete with this continuous shift from one analytical level to another, beginning with the authority of the author in classical studies, then the authority of the text in modern studies, and finally, attempts to find a critical alternative that transcends the exclusionary practices applied to the peripheries of the literary phenomenon in general. One of the fundamental issues this research attempts to address is the manifestation of structure as a system of relationships and combinations between the text's isolable units, through a deconstructive approach permitted by structuralist methodologies. This research focuses on the formation of narrative structure, on the one hand, and the generation of meaning and interpretation, on the other. Therefore, the analysis was based on an analytical and interpretive approach. Initially, the structure appeared as a fixed and describable unit, and addressing it did not exceed the level of applying analytical tools in a deterministic manner. This became complicated in terms of the manifestation of this narrative structure itself as a focal point of meaning and a space for practicing endless interpretation.
