Nelson Mandela and the national struggle in South Africa

In an attempt to investigate Mandela's life, it becomes clear that he represents the life of an entire nation of South African peoples, just as Nasser was for Egypt, the Arabs, and Africa, Nkrumah for Ghana and West Africa, and Mao Zedong for China. The Union of South Africa, where Mandela lived, is located within the southern region of the African continent, with an area of ??1.2 million km2. This region covers an area of ??approximately 6 million km2, and includes the countries of Angola and Mozambique, which were under Portuguese occupation, the Union of South Africa, Northern Rhodesia and Southern Rhodesia (present-day Zambia and Zimbabwe), which were under British occupation, South West Africa (Namibia), which was a German colony and then placed under the mandate of the Union of South Africa until independence, in addition to the protectorates of Bechuanaland, Basuland, and Swaziland.
