The Arab Spring revolutions established a new reality demanding freedom, democracy, and change. Media reform emerged as a key requirement of these revolutions, seeking to break free from the historical dependence on the state and corrupt power centers within societies, and to usher in new horizons of freedom of expression, publication, broadcasting, and access to information. Similarly, crisis studies have become a field of increasing interest in the modern era. Despite the crucial role of media in crisis management, the discipline of media-led crisis management remains relatively new. Numerous studies examining the role of media in managing both internal crises-such as social, environmental, and industrial crises-and external international crises have highlighted the vital role of media during and after crises. Indeed, these types of crises rely on media as a fundamental component of the crisis management strategy. Media reform was among the demands of these revolutions, aiming to break free from the historical dependence of the state and corrupt power centers within societies, and to usher in a new era of freedom of expression, publication, broadcasting, and access to information. The role of opinion programs (talk shows) on Egyptian satellite television channels became prominent amidst increasing political and social activism in Egyptian society and the expanded freedom of expression available for discussing many sensitive topics. This resulted in the Egyptian public's interest in these programs, which established themselves as a new media alternative from which viewers obtain information and form opinions and attitudes toward current events and issues on the political scene. They also became a primary source of information for the Egyptian public on public affairs. Furthermore, they were able to compete with traditional news broadcasts in presenting the most important daily events related to Egyptian affairs. In this book, we study and examine how opinion programs on Egyptian satellite channels address internal crises, identify the frameworks they employ, and explore the relationship between this approach and the formation of Egyptian public opinion. This is achieved by examining a range of variables that may influence the media's role in shaping public opinion. The book includes a chapter that includes a theoretical section on crises, their causes and planning for their management, a theoretical chapter on dealing with and managing crises in the media, and another chapter on opinion programs, their importance and factors for success. The book is then concluded with a chapter on a study entitled "e;Frames for Dealing with Opinion Programs on Egyptian Satellite Channels and Their Impact on Shaping Public Attitudes - A Survey Study."e; This includes the results of the analytical study of the frameworks for dealing with opinion programs (a new page on Nile Live channel representing government channels, and Al-Hayat Al-Youm on Al-Hayat channel representing private channels) regarding Egyptian crises, then the results of the field study on a sample of 400 individuals from the general public in the governorates of Cairo, as the capital, Alexandria, representing the governorates of Lower Egypt, and Assiut, representing the governorates of Upper Egypt, to find out the impact of the frameworks for dealing with Egyptian crises on public attitudes, in addition to discussing the general results, testing the study hypotheses and recommendations.
