I served aboard this ship for ten and one-half months on a Mediterranean cruise in 1960. I have written the book as if you were there and I was giving you a guided tour of the ship. The book is about life aboard an aircraft carrier, the happenings, the hazards, the good times, the dangerous times, the way it operates and why, the way we worked, the way we played, to give an understanding to folks who have never been aboard an aircraft carrier.
