Funeral For My Sorrows

Viola was a special little girl whom you either loved or feared. She had the power to "read" people and although she gave her gift to God to be used by Him, most folks did not understand the special anointing she was graced with. Seeing someone's soul and what's going on "in the spirit" around them can be a blessing and in some ways a curse. It caused Viola to be ostracized at school and estranged from her parents; a lonely existence. Fortunately, Viola found her place in life living with her grandmother - Ma' Dear. Like Viola, Ma' Dear also had the gift for reading people and chose to use her spiritual gifts for the public good.

Ma' Dear lived in Juniper County, a small town in Georgia that was easy to miss on a map and even easier to drive through if you blinked twice. It was a good place for a quiet life and lessons for a lifetime yet, peace did not always abide in Juniper. When you are gifted like Viola and Ma' Dear, God has special use for you, the devil never ceases in his mischief and all people want from you is more. And even with all of that, you still have your personal demons to fight in this world and in the dimension few can see.

Although Ma' Dear was used to it all, growing up in Juniper took a lot of faith for a young soul like Viola. When the devil sees your potential, no temptation or trial is too much for him to throw at ya'. Some days, it seem like the devil had Viola on speed dial, ready to distract her 'fore he get on to his other demonly duties. But, Viola is strong. If'n she can just hold on until her change comes, she will one day have a funeral for all of her sorrows.
