All Aboard for my First Hair Cut

Choo-choo! Leo loves trains, but today he's getting his very first haircut.

New things can feel big. Leo doesn't like the buzzy sound of clippers, and he doesn't like hands on his head. So he makes a plan: he'll go one stop at a time, just like a train.

With his little red engine Toots, a pair of headphones, and a friendly barber named Bo, Leo rides from stop to stop. He visits the shop and climbs into the big chair. He feels the buzz on his hand first. Whenever he needs a break, he says "Red light!" Then comes the very last stop: a brand-new haircut and a big "Hooray!"

This gentle, silly picture book helps children get ready for a haircut by showing them what to expect and giving them simple ways to feel calm and brave.

Inside you'll find:

• Soft watercolor pictures on every page
• Short, easy sentences for early readers and read-aloud time
• Fun sound words to say together: Snip, snip! Bzzzz! Toot, toot!
• Calming ideas kids can really use: headphones for loud sounds, asking the barber to "tell me first," a "red light, green light" signal for breaks, and big steam-train breaths
• A sensory-friendly, social-story style that suits children who feel worried about noise, touch, or new places

A great choice for ages 4-8, and for any child who loves trains or has a first (or next) haircut coming up.

All aboard!
