The Philadelphia Cricket Club was founded on 10 February 1854. For the first 30 years, the club had no permanent home and moved around playing at an available ground.

The club's homeless state was reflected in its choice of colours: red, black and gold, adopted from the most famous wandering club of them all, I Zingari, which was founded in England nine years before.

This is the story of the oldest of the Philadelphia cricket clubs, its players and its most famous matches.
