The main tools are basically the same which are useful in nonlinear functional analysis, such as topological degree theory, fixed point principles and variational arguments. The third chapter contains the main topic of the book: convergence of numerical procedures involving iteration-projection methods, with a particular emphasis on the Galerkin method, the harmonic balance method, and the different method.
