Exiled from Asgard once and for all, former Norse-god and current tech CEO Lain Laufeyjarson is working on settling back into mortal life with his friends, family, and company. Nothing is that simple, however, and an encounter with a cursed webseries sees him head to Melbourne to investigate what seems to be the birth of a new Wyrdborn.

Ngoc Bich's life, meanwhile, was upended when her best friend and co-creator, Roxanne Lee, went missing while filming vicwalks, their up-and-coming YouTube horror serial. Now Bich is haunted by the Tooth Girl, the monster she and Roxx created (or perhaps summoned), looking for both her friend and a way back to normality. Or, failing that, a Hollywood film deal for their idea.

Finding and subduing the Tooth Girl should be simple; a newly born bad meme no match for a modern god like Lain. Except for the rumors on the street of Wyrdborn going missing, and of a strange new therapy for mortals that leaves them Wyrdless. Two seemingly unconnected mysteries, both with more questions and answers. It's only a matter of time before Lain gets himself into something he may not be able to get himself out of. Again.
