Diese Lücke in der wissenschaftlichen Diskussion schließt Sophie Thürk mit der vorliegenden Arbeit: Anhand der drei ausgewählten Rechtssysteme der USA, der Schweiz und Deutschlands arbeitet sie Unterschiede und Gemeinsamkeiten der nationalen Belegenheitsgerichtsstände heraus und geht den Fragen nach, ob, unter welchen Voraussetzungen und aus welchen Gründen die Belegenheitszuständigkeit einen (interessen-)gerechten Gerichtsstand bietet. Stellen Belegenheitsgerichtsstände eine geeignete Grundlage für die Ausübung weltweiter Zuständigkeit in einem supranationalen Zuständigkeitsübereinkommen dar?
