Molecules containing the benzoxazole moiety, either isolated from plants or obtained by total synthesis, possess remarkable biological activities. Some of the examples being, gram-positive antibacterials, polycyclic antibiotics, antiparasitics, anti-inflammatories, elastase inhibitors and H2-antagonists, that contain benzoxazole moiety. Because of the varied pharmacological properties possessed by the benzoxazoles, they are considered to be important. The book covers much on the pharmacological significance of benzoxazole derivatives. It is presented on the basis of the type of biological activity for the sake of convenience.
