Day For The Beach

Follow along on an enchanting journey of exploring the beach. These captivating watercolors share the joy of a day at the beach and are accompanied by rhyme and cadence. This story reveals the curiosity that is in all of us when we take the time to explore our environment. Enjoy the artist's delightful interpretation of seeing the ocean, sand dollars, abalone shells, crab shells, feathers, rainbows, and later dreaming of all the wonder that the beach has to offer. The process of curiosity, being open to learning, and closer examination is the essence of a mindful practice that helps us wake up to the fullness of life.

My Sister and artist extraordinaire, April, painted these watercolors from our time growing up on the eastern beaches in Florida. She included shells from the pacific coast where she was living when she created these drawings. Inspired by the images, I penned the words using what I learned from reading to children. This book is a collaboration and celebration of our memories of combing the beach, hearing the ocean while falling asleep, walking barefoot in the sand, sitting on the dunes, and gazing at the continuous waves and ever-changing tide.
