In einem bayerischen Städtchen erleben wir eine erstarrte Gesellschaft, die im Lauf der folgenden dreißig Jahre vom Krieg, der Machtergreifung der Nationalsozialisten und einem zweiten Krieg erschüttert wird. Generationenübergreifend und anhand der unterschiedlichen Lebenswege zweier Schwestern geht es dabei immer auch um die Frage: Soll man fortgehen, wenn man unglücklich ist? Oder soll man bleiben und versuchen, die Dinge zum Besseren zu verändern? (Dieser Text bezieht sich auf eine frühere Ausgabe.)
