Dino Duties

Six-year-old Danny awakes one morning from uneasy dreams to find he has been turned into a dinosaur. At first he tries to impersonate a human boy and hide the problem. However, when this approach only results in further destruction he must change his tactic. He embraces the predicament and finds ways to repair his room, care for his body, and get himself ready for breakfast - where he finds an unexpected reception! This book is ideal for dinosaur fans, parents, and any child who sometimes feels ill-equipped to live in the demanding world of grown-up humans.

Dino Duties began its life as a series of storyboards that I created to give my pre-literate children something of their very own: empowerment through responsibility. Like a tiny T-Rex, a child can feel like their arms are too small, their bodies too destructive, and their roars too loud. Being a tiny person in a big-person's world is an adventure every day. Dino Duties creates a fun portal through which to develop a set of habits and behaviors that can help bring autonomy and self-assuredness to any child.
