Is your child scared about moving to a new home? Worried about starting at a new school? Missing their old friends and bedroom?

Firefighter Finn and his team are here to help your child understand that change is hard, feelings are valid, and courage means doing brave things even when you're scared.

THE STORY:

Leo is moving. His toys are packed. His room is empty. Tomorrow he'll wake up in a different house, and Leo is sad and scared.

But when Firefighter Finn, Sparky, Lily, and Juliet arrive to help, Leo learns something important: it's okay to feel sad about leaving AND excited about new things at the same time. Both feelings can exist together.

LEO'S JOURNEY:

Saying Goodbye - Leo walks through his empty house one last time, saying goodbye to his room, his backyard, and the place he loves. Finn teaches him that crying is okay and that goodbyes are hard.

The Important Truth - "YOU make a house a home," Finn tells Leo. "Not the building. Your love, your family, your memories - those go WITH you." Home is internal, not external.

Arriving at the New House - The new house is bigger than Leo expected. And wait - is that a TREEHOUSE in the backyard? Leo feels the first small spark of hope.

Making a New Friend - Leo meets Marcus, the boy next door. With Finn's help facilitating the introduction, Leo sits down to build with blocks. They laugh together. Making a friend feels good.

The School Worry - Just when Leo is feeling better, Mom mentions tomorrow is his first day at a new school. The worried feelings come rushing back. What if nobody likes him? What if he gets lost?

Learning About Courage - Finn teaches Leo the most important lesson: "Being brave doesn't mean you're not scared. Being brave means doing the hard thing EVEN WHEN you're scared. You can be scared AND brave at the same time!"

The Brave First Day - Leo puts on his backpack. His stomach feels nervous, but he remembers Finn's words. He takes a deep breath and walks toward the car. He's scared, but he's doing it anyway. That's courage.

School Success - At school, the teacher welcomes Leo warmly. A girl named Emma invites him to sit beside her. At recess, Leo sees Marcus - they go to the same school! Having a friend makes everything easier. Leo runs to join them, smiling.

Coming Home Proud - "How was school?" Mom asks. "It was good!" Leo says, surprised. "I was scared. But I was brave too! I made TWO friends - Marcus AND Emma!" Mom hugs him tight, so proud of her courageous boy.

Settling In - Over the next weeks, Leo settles into his new home. He puts glow-in-the-dark stars on his ceiling just like his old room. He and Marcus play in the treehouse every day. School gets easier. The scared feelings get smaller.

Loving Both - "I like my new house now," Leo tells Finn. "I still miss my old house sometimes." Finn smiles gently. "You can love both places. And that's perfectly okay." Home is wherever the people you love are.

WHAT CHILDREN LEARN:

Emotional Literacy - All feelings are valid and okay. You can feel sad, scared, excited, and angry during big changes. You can even feel opposite emotions at the same time - sad about leaving AND excited about new things. Both-and emotions are normal.

Courage Redefined - Brave doesn't mean fearless. Brave means feeling scared and doing the hard thing anyway. Courage is action despite fear, not the absence of fear. Leo learns he can be scared AND brave simultaneously.
