The Gnostics of the early centuries did not write to convince anyone of doctrines. They wrote to provoke a recognition - and for that they were silenced. Not because they were false, but because they made the middleman unnecessary.

Twenty centuries later, on another continent, a man kept repeating that no scripture saves, and that truth is not in the word but in what remains when the word falls silent.

This book does not claim that Osho taught Gnosis. It sets the two shores in dialogue: it shows where they converge and does not conceal where they refuse each other.
