And she kept her promise.

What you are about to read should, by all accounts, be a memoir. But really, it is a spiritual adventure, a love letter, and a séance all at once. The lines blur deliberately, because truth rarely fits the categories we create for it.

It is her life - a young Italian woman who lost her own mother at seven and spent the rest of her years searching for what lay beyond the loss. Naples to Sicily to the ashrams of India to the canals of Amsterdam and finally, the mystical Glastonbury. A mother who renamed herself Padma and then accepted the name Samaya from an Indian master. She read Tarot cards artfully, with the seriousness of a scholar and the warmth of a saint.

And it is mine. Raised between worlds - and shaped by the loves and losses that taught me what I was made of, and by how powerfully her presence still guides me.

I wrote it through the twenty-two archetypes of the Major Arcana of the Tarot of Thoth - the patterns that belong to all of us - in the hope that something in these pages pulls at a hidden string inside you, too.

How she does it is yours to uncover. The clues are everywhere. But some things remain invisible until you've lived through your own loss. If you have, you already know.
