The Invisible Government discusses The Council on Foreign Relations founded by Edward Mandel House and others who wanted to bring Socialism as defined by Marx into this country. Written in 1962 Smoot begins by saying, "Communists in government during World War II formulated major policies which the Truman administration followed; but when the known communists were gone, the policies continued, under Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson.
