Das Training von kognitiven Stützfunktionen und mathematischen Vorläuferfertigkeiten gilt als gewinnbringende Vorbereitung auf die schulischen Anforderungen des Mathematikunterrichts. Dieses Training findet bei Vorschulkindern bei der alltäglichen Nutzung von Brett-, Tisch- und Würfelspielen statt. Beobachtungen zeigen, dass Vorschulkinder oft Zugang zu Tablets haben und diese auch gerne nutzen. Daher wurden für diese Studie Applikationen entwickelt und programmiert, die auf ein solches Training abzielen. Die vorliegende Studie beleuchtet, inwiefern Kinder förderliche Operationen für die Entwicklung kognitiver Stützfunktionen und mathematischer Vorläuferfertigkeiten beim Umgang mit der Software ausführen. Darüber hinaus wird ein Vergleich angestellt, inwiefern sich qualitative Unterschiede und/oder Gemeinsamkeiten, in Bezug auf das Training mathematischer Vorläuferfertigkeiten, zwischen der Nutzung von konventionellen Spielen und der Nutzung der Apps ergeben.
