Band 'Kommunikationssysteme I - Theorie, Entwurf, Messtechnik' darstellt und damit deren Inhalte voraussetzt. Dabei geht es um eine Anleitung zum praktischen Entwurf von Telekommunikationssystemen am Beispiel einer Dateiübertragung zwischen mehreren Personal Computern. Grundlage für den Entwurf ist das Open System Interconnection Referenzmodell. Aufbauend auf einer Anforderungsanalyse wird nach einer Analyse der Schichtenfunktionen eine vollständige SDL-Spezifikation erstellt.
