At seventy-one, the retired preservation firebrand has no intention of letting Delaney Harbor's lighthouse fall apart just because the repairs are expensive, the committee is annoying, and the mayor has decided she needs help.

Renata Cross came to Delaney as a temporary poet-in-residence, still carrying the grief of widowhood and the quiet certainty that temporary hurts less than staying. She planned to write, observe, and leave before the town could become home.

As preservation turns into public spectacle, Kiera and Renata are forced into fundraisers, archives, storm repairs, community meddling, and the terrifying realization that love may not be finished with either of them.
