There are concerns that despite government initiatives to promote adoption of electronic commerce, SMEs still find it problematic to easily and successfully implement and manage Information Technology (IT) and Information Systems (IS) effectively to enable them realise e-commerce related benefits. This book investigates into information systems and information technology implementation and management: (A Competitive Advantage) among the Manufacturing SMEs in Ghana. The main aim of the study is to identify and assess the various forms of business information systems and information technologies which are known to and are used by manufacturing SMEs in Ghana taking into account the cost, risk and impact on their businesses. Therefore this book would review the nature and extent of the take-up of these technologies by small and medium scale firms, and the digital devises/technologies/systems that have emerged and are actually being used in SMEs in Africa; Ghana. A number of recommendations have been made in the book to help increase manufacturing SMEs' access to support and funding to stimulate growth and development in to the e-marketplace for a competitive advantage.
