The National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI) has served as the vehicle for co-ordinating and reporting on activities in the dynamic field of nanotechnology across the Federal Government. Twenty departments, independent agencies, and independent commissions participate in the NNI, representing a wide variety of missions, responsibilities, interests, and expertise.
