Outspoken: The Towne Women of Salem, Massachusetts is a fictional poetry chapbook based upon real historical events that happened to real people in Salem, Massachusetts from 1635-1692.
We have no journals or documents about the daily lives of these women and how they might have reacted to the world around them. But we can guess at human emotional responses based upon how people in more recent traumas reacted to events and upon how people in our lives now react to traumatic events.
These poetic "journal entries" are my best guess based upon my (imperfect) understanding of human history, women's history, history of indigenous people on turtle island at that time, human psychology, human physiology, physics, botany, religious history, and a catalog of other weird special interests.
