Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year. The internet hasn't developed a chokehold on everyone's lives quite yet. The newest must-have technology is the iPhone 4, but a lot of people are still rocking the cell phones with a slide-up QWERTY keyboard. Life for the average American high schooler is simpler, more stress-free. The biggest day-to-day concern for most high school girls is whether or not their hair is straight enough.

Danni Wells is a Junior in high school, and trying to maintain her under-the-radar trajectory. In her small town on the East Coast, she has gone to school with almost all of the same people since kindergarten, and has been able to mostly avoid the drama. That's because while most people have to worry about a mean girl in the school hallways, Danni's "mean girl" takes up residence in her own head. As she finally starts to branch out and come out of her shell, her life suddenly becomes very dramatic, but a lot more interesting. Follow Danni through her Junior year as she navigates friends, boys, frenemies, and boys that are "just my friend, Mom, God!" Not to mention her unrelenting anxiety as she overthinks everything.
