Posh Talk: Language and Identity in Higher Education is an in-depth study of a group of multilingual first-year undergraduate students from widening participation backgrounds as a university in London. All were taking an academic writing programme set up to improve student retention during the transition into higher education. Through a detailed examination of spoken interaction, the book explores ways in which identity positions emerge, with a particular focus on gender.
