Seek and Save

"For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost" (Luke 19:10). Of the four Gospels, none is more insistent than Luke's that Jesus did not simply wait for the lost to find their way home - He went looking for them. A shepherd leaves ninety-nine sheep to chase down one. A woman sweeps her whole house for a single lost coin. A father runs to meet a son who is still a long way off. A tax collector climbs a tree just to see, and is sought out and found instead.

Seek and Save is the nineteenth volume in The Daily Quiet Time Reflections Series, continuing the same daily, one-reading-at-a-time approach used throughout - most recently in Ransom for Many: Reflections on the Gospel of Mark. Drawn from more than a decade of daily Quiet Time writing and Sunday School teaching at First Baptist Church in Dallas, Eugene Han walks through all twenty-four chapters of Luke's Gospel across twelve chapters, from the angel's first appearance to a doubting priest in the temple to the ascension of the risen Christ from the Mount of Olives.

This is not a technical commentary written for seminarians.
