This book consists of five parts. The first part is an Overview of the Theory-Method System of Classical Formulas, introducing the concept, scope, and theoretical-methodological framework of classical formulas. The second part is the Theoretical Foundations of the Dapin Jingfa (Grand Classical Formula Methodology), covering the pathways and principal diseases of the zang-fu organs and meridians, the generation and transformation of nutritive qi (ying) and defensive qi (wei), the movement between yin and yang and exterior and interior, the pathological states of cold, heat, deficiency, and excess, the desires and aversions as well as supplementation and reduction related to the five flavors of food and herbs, and the characteristic manifestations of complexion, pulse, disease presentation, and physical form. The third part is Illustrative Examples of Pattern Differentiation and Treatment of Diseases and Syndromes with Classical Formulas, presenting the pattern differentiation and treatment rules for nine conditions described in the Inner Canon of the Yellow Emperor (Huangdi Neijing) as addressed by the Dapin Jingfa: Ben Tun (running piglet syndrome), Ge Zhong (diaphragmatic fullness), Qin Han (night sweats), Yin Fei (aphasia with paralysis), Chong Shan (pubic hernia), Gu Bi (bone bi), Jing Zhong (lower leg swelling), Xiao Dan (wasting-thirst disorder), and Wei Jue (flaccidity and reversal). The fourth part is a Compendium of Theories, Methods, and Formulation Discourses on Classical Formulas, summarizing classic formula theories from the Qin-Han, Jin-Tang, Song-Yuan, and Ming-Qing dynasties. The fifth part is Essentials of Materia Medica, introducing the primary indications and commonly used herb combinations for 208 frequently used medicinal substances, categorized into upper, middle, and lower grades.

本书包括五部分内容。第一部分为经方理法体系概述，介绍经方的概念、范畴、理法体系等；第二部分为大品经法理论基础，介绍脏腑经络的循行主病、营卫气血的生成变化、阴阳表里的出入流行、寒热虚实的病理状态、饮食五味的苦欲补泻、色脉病形的表现特点等；第三部分为经方病证辨治举隅，介绍大品经法《内经》中的9种病证奔豚、膈中、寝汗、喑痱、冲疝、骨痹、胫肿、消瘅、痿厥的辨治规律；第四部分为经方理法方论汇粹，介绍秦汉、晋唐、宋元、明清的经典方论；第五部分为本草集要，介绍上、中、下三品208种常用本草的主治内涵及常用药组。
