"Sophia and Alex Make Learn about Health" is one of eleven volumes in the "Sophia and Alex" series, written by Author Denise Bourgeois-Vance and illustrated by Artist Damon Danielson. As Sophia and Alex are home sick today, their schoolmates discover and learn about good health habits from eating right and maintaining good hygiene. From brushing their teeth, to testing their hearing and eyesight, the children learn that staying healthy is essential to feeling good both physically and mentally.

The 32-page illustrated book touches on all aspects of physical health at home and at school. They learn about such things as immunizations, reporting abuse, maintaining a good weight, and going to the doctor. Children learn that physical health is strongly related to their social and emotional outlook, and that by forming good health habits, they can be happy and content.

Each book in the "Sophia and Alex" series draws on storylines based on common events found in the life of an early learner. Through the use of dual text, the child can simultaneously learn to read in Hindi or English while better expressing themselves in each.
