Adam Tomasek is a troubled high school student who carries the guilt of murdering his brother throughout his life. Angered and ashamed of himself, he becomes emotionally shut off from his parents who, in his eyes, also blame him for what he committed. Adam's frustration leads him to start fights in school, causing him to be expelled and forcing his family to relocate in Chicago. The move to the city is supposed to help him start over and he swears never to lose control of temper again. But Adam's anger soon begins to unravel when he encounters Ricky, a mysterious student, who taps into his dark side and introduces him to an underground streetfighting league. Desperate to relieve his pain, Adam joins the gang, believing it is his purpose to fight - until he meets a girl who shows him he can do so much more with his life. But his involvement with her only threatens his position in the league, for as he ventures deeper inside, he finds everything is not what it first seems.
