Stuck in the Middle

Rayla has her future planned out just fine, putting in the work to move on from what one bad decision caused years ago. Going to college, raising her son, attending therapy, all of it to simply do what is right. Doing all of it only to come across the one situation she did not expect to find herself in, which is falling for the one man she should stay away from due to her past with someone he just may be related to. Unable to help get to know Maven, knowing her time with him was simply coming to an end, she decides to let her heart be happy for a bit longer anyway. Little does Maven know, the person who hurt her in the past is much closer than he realizes, and there is a reason why she won't just tell him what she is hiding. With her past catching up with her, with the choice to risk losing Maven if she takes action in court thanks to a dear friend who as well has his eyes set on her, Rayla makes the decision to let the chips fall where they must to do what is right for her own family, knowing the man she loves and whom she wants to be a part of it may never forgive her if she goes through with it. Will Maven find it in his heart to really see her side of things, to see the truth? Or will he leave her in his past, the same way she has tried to leave the very thing...or someone...who hurt her so long ago?
