The sixty-first volume of Studies in Bibliography continues its tradition of presenting a wide range of articles by international scholars on bibliography, textual criticism, and other aspects of the study of books. The volume opens with a bibliographical assessment of the contributions to the Anglo-American book world of the bookseller, scholar, collector, and writer John Carter, accompanied by a handlist of the nearly fifteen hundred items Carter is known to have published.
