Audacity of Faith

Stronger than death. Mightier than tsunamis and earthquakes and tornadoes. More powerful than atomic bombs. Faith is the most effective weapon in our Christian arsenal. It is so powerful, it moves God! The great Monarch of the universe will do what He otherwise might not simply because weak, wobbly-legged humans have the audacity to believe He would and trust Him to. The Audacity of Faith presents the faith that is the single most important currency in the universe. It is the fare that one must possess to gain access to all that God desires to bestow upon human beings. The book progresses in four stages. In stage one, Infancy, we explore the nature of faith, what it is, how it relates to life, and the role of miracles. When we reach stage two, Maturity, we see how God begins to grow our faith. Using the chisel of affliction, He chips away the defects in our characters and transforms us into usable tools in His hands. Intimacy, the third stage, brings us to new heights in our relationship with God. The assignments get tougher at this stage, but by then we've been around the block with Him a few times, and have learned that He can be trusted. We also learn about His expectations of us, about our responsibilities toward Him and toward our fellowmen. The last stage, Culmination, is probably the reason why most people join the Christian faith: the reward-God's blessings, His daily provisions, and above all, eternal life. But at this stage we learn that Christianity is much more than this. It is also about what we become as a result of having faith-how we respond to God's apparent neglect or abandonment. Culmination focuses on our response to faith after we have become intimate with its Author and Finisher, on how we view this life from the vantage point of eternity.
