Journals have been used to aid recovery for decades, yet too often they are little more than notebooks. They may establish the idea of making daily changes, but they don't help people learn how to make those changes an ongoing practice. This journal does.



The Essential Task Recovery Journal is an interactive journal that helps people in recovery implement the daily tasks that promote and reinforce tangible progress. It helps set a daily framework to keep individuals focused on the tasks and behaviors associated with recovery as it relates to building and maintaining the building blocks of recovery and self-care.

The Five Essential Tasks put recovery into action. It lets people quickly create a master list of tasks and then follow that list like a road map. It shifts the experience of journaling away from only thinking about recovery and making it about doing recovery. Through the Five Essential Tasks, a person's recovery efforts become traceable. If we can plan and track what works, we can do more of what works while also recognizing areas in need of change. Each day people can see what they accomplished, which fuels motivation and progress. It also strips down the process, simplifying what can otherwise be overwhelming.
