Every true book of the Kingdom must first pass through Ramah. Before the trumpets of triumph, the tears of the mothers; before the gathering of all things, the grief over scattered things. Rachel stands at the roadside of history weeping for children carried away - for nations halved by oppression, for houses truncated by sudden death, for harvests stolen by the thief, for generations that were not. This volume does not step over her; it kneels beside her. The total narrative is honest about the losses before it is triumphant about the gathering.
But the same oracle that records the weeping issues the restraining order of heaven: Thus saith the LORD; Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the LORD; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy. And there is hope in thine end, saith the LORD, that thy children shall come again to their own border (Jeremiah 31:16-17).
THEY SHALL COME AGAIN!!! That is the thesis of this entire book pronounced at its gate. The scattered shall be gathered, the stolen shall be restored, the halved shall be doubled, and the borders shall receive their children. From this Ramah of honest tears we now rise and walk seven chapters home - through Nature, Picture, Structure, Architecture, Infrastructure, Nomenclature, and Future - until the God of Jacob wipes away all tears from all eyes and the gathering of all things is complete in Christ. Refrain thy voice, Rachel; the road home is open. Amen and Amen!!!
