The Pressures of Addiction | Finding A Way Out

Pressures of Addiction: Finding A Way Out by S.R. Mays is a memoir that delves into the harrowing journey of overcoming heroin addiction. The author, once reluctant to share his past, found inspiration in a biblical verse from 2 Corinthians 5:17, embracing a new life in Christ. Initially focused on recovery, Mays avoided discussing his addictive past, opting instead to write his first book "The Effective Use of Spiritual Tools."

Rediscovering his old journals revealed a vivid account of his struggles and pressures as an addict. These journals, written during his darkest times, were meant to be shared to help others. In this book, Mays candidly describes how addiction impacted every facet of his life, emphasizing his relentless quest for freedom from drug abuse.

The memoir is not just a recounting of addiction but a testament to the power of faith and perseverance. Mays highlights the importance of trusting in the Lord, as exemplified in Proverbs 3:5-6, and illustrates the consequences of both obedience and disobedience to divine guidance. His journey, spanning over a decade, showcases the long and often painful road to recovery.

Mays hopes that his story will resonate with readers, offering them hope and encouragement in their battles with addiction. He also invites readers to join his YouTube channel, "Overcoming Addiction, by Sandy Mays," for ongoing discussions and support on addiction recovery.
