The Valley of the Shadow

Eric Ferris has been writing rhyming poetry and prose short stories for over sixty years. He has contributed to numerous small publications and zines throughout his life. He now believes it is time to make his entrance on the 'big stage.'

Resting upon strong, Victorian foundations this is a selection of his very darkest works. Within it are included thirty seven lavish illustrations in a black and white monochrome, summoned up from his sombre mind. A menacing and shocking autobiographical snapshot ends the book.

A fallen angel, climate change.
Suicide in a Victorian Grange.

A credit card with an evil tax.

A famous folly on the Isle of Wight.
A raven's message, carried mid-flight.
King Arthur and the big reveal,
Did I even mention eels?

'A footfall echoes in a wooded glade.
Dark eyes glisten in a sea of jade.
From the centre of gloom rears an ugly tree,
a victim of its age and history.'
