Three Friends in Miami

"We were known as the Magnificent Three. In the interest of honesty I should specify that nobody called us this, apart from ourselves; but someone has to start a legend, and we had decided it was safer to take that responsibility ourselves.
Fernandel commanded the expedition. His authority rested upon an incontestable title: he had already spent two weeks in Florida the year before, which made of him, in his own eyes, a sort of Christopher Columbus who had simply had the goodness to come back for us. He knew Miami "like his own pocket," as the French expression has it. The remainder of the voyage would establish that the pocket had a hole in it - but let us not get ahead of ourselves."

Three friends take off for Miami. They are twenty-six, nearly broke, infinitely confident... and have absolutely no idea what awaits them. Their first exploit: announcing at customs, "I have a drug."
