Gerald Zschorsch, geboren 1951 in Elsterberg im Voigtland, hat einen weiten Weg hinter sich. Von Plauen (Voigtland) wanderte der jugendliche Dissident in Gefängnisse der DDR. Er wurde in die Bundesrepublik abgeschoben; studierte in Gießen, zog später nach Frankfurt am Main. Auf die heftigen Protestlieder, Gedichte und Gefängnisnotate, die zuerst 1977 unter dem Titel Glaubt bloß nicht daß ich traurig bin in Berlin erschienen (mit einem Nachwort von Rudi Dutschke), folgten die Bände Klappmesser, Stadthunde, Sturmtruppen, Spitznasen, Eiserner Felix mit ihren knapperen sarkastischen und erotischen, rätsel-, spruch- und dann doch wieder liedhaften Gedichten.Gerald Zschorschs Werk ist einzelgängerisch. Nachbarschaft besteht vielleicht am ehesten zu Gedichten von Thomas Brasch. Zschorsch bleibt Dichter, auch wenn er, selten, Prosa schreibt. Der Zeichner ist noch zu entdecken.Torhäuser des Glücks enthält sämtliche vor 2004 veröffentlichten Gedichte - und im neunten, letzten Kapitel, »Eizahn«, fünfzig neue, unveröffentlichte, nach Osten gewandt.
