THE LOSS IS NOT ALWAYS THE DANGER.

Sometimes the most expensive trade is the one you take after the losing trade.

You close the position.

The loss is defined.

The market moves on.

Then a thought appears:

"I can make it back."

The next position becomes larger.
The entry becomes faster.
The stop suddenly feels too tight.
A mediocre setup starts looking attractive.

And the trader is no longer trading the market.

He is trading against the memory of the loss.

THE TRADE AFTER THE LOSS investigates what happens in the critical space between one losing trade and the next decision.

It examines the financial and psychological chain behind:

  • Revenge trading
  • Overtrading
  • Emotional position sizing
  • Excessive leverage
  • Breaking trading rules
  • Moving stop losses
  • FOMO and regret
  • The obsession with getting back to breakeven

But this is not another generic lecture about "being disciplined."

The deeper problem is that traders can know the rules and still break them when pressure changes the meaning of money.

This book follows that process step by step-from the first loss to the recovery trade, from emotional risk-taking to the overtrading spiral, and finally to a practical framework for protecting the decision that comes next.

At the center of the book is a simple five-step protocol:

RESET.
End the previous trade.

REVIEW.
Determine whether the loss was valid or the process was broken.

RISK.
Check whether current exposure still fits the plan.

SETUP.
Ask whether the next trade would exist without the previous loss.

EXECUTE.
Trade only if the original conditions remain valid.

Otherwise:

NO TRADE.

Because the market does not owe you a recovery.

A losing trade does not become more valuable because you need your money back.

And the next setup does not become better because the previous one failed.

The real objective is not to eliminate losses.

It is to stop one loss from becoming five bad decisions.

You cannot control the next market move.

You cannot guarantee the next trade.

But you can protect the next decision.

And sometimes the most profitable trade is the one you have the discipline to refuse.
