Training up a child

The home is supposed to be a child s first school and the parent his first teacher, but it is glaring that the reverse is the case in our present world and as a result of that has placed children in a very compromising position and has made many young people do what they don t want to do. The objective of this research work was to look exegetically into the book of Prov 22:6 and examine some keys words. The literal meaning of the text was examined and its implication for our contemporary parenting skills. The main objective for this research work was to devise means through which parents can cater for their children without it clashing with their work. Literatures of other authors were reviewed in order to get other people opinion on the stated problem. Exegesis was done to get a deeper meaning of the text in question and to arrive at a conclusion on what the text implies for parents in Ilishan Remo. The use of questionnaire was employed to get views from the people of this locality on what parenting is and what is not.
