Why Sit Here Until We Die?

There are moments in life when God interrupts the ordinary - moments when something familiar suddenly carries a deeper meaning, when a simple scene becomes a spiritual mirror, when a quiet whisper becomes a call to move. This book was born out of those moments.
I didn't set out to write a book about lepers, trees, or hidden places. I didn't plan to explore the tension between staying and moving, or the ache of feeling overlooked, or the courage required to step into purpose. But God has a way of speaking through what we pass by every day, and He has a way of stirring questions we didn't know we needed to ask.
One of those questions changed everything for me: Why sit here till we die?
It's a question that confronts complacency. A question that awakens courage. A question that refuses to let us settle for survival. A question that calls us into movement, obedience, and purpose.
This book is not about rushing ahead or forcing your own timing. It is about recognizing when God is calling you out of places that no longer carry life. It is about seeing purpose in unlikely places, hearing God in overlooked moments, and discovering that your placement - even when it feels uncomfortable - is intentional.
You may find yourself in one of the stories woven through these chapters. You may feel like the trees planted in the median - present but unnoticed. You may feel like the lepers outside the gate - stuck between what was and what could be. You may feel like Esther - positioned for a moment you didn't expect. Or like David's men - hidden, waiting, being shaped in the shadows.
Wherever you find yourself, my prayer is that these pages breathe courage into your spirit. That they stir something holy inside you. That they remind you God has not forgotten where He planted you - and He has not overlooked what He placed within you.
This book is an invitation to rise. To move. To obey. To step into the assignment heaven has placed on your life.
It is a call to stop sitting in places that guarantee spiritual death and to begin walking toward the life God has prepared for you.
